Nutrition can be an incredibly confusing and difficult field to navigate. We are constantly bombarded with articles and books and videos telling us what to eat, when to eat, what not to eat, how to eat, where to eat…and just when we think we know what's "best", it all changes again!
Functional nutrition is an integrative, evidence-based, personalized, and collaborative approach to learning how best to optimize your health. Each client receives their own individualized program based on their needs and goals, there is no cookie cutter approach here. While I focus on using food as medicine, I also think it’s incredibly important to highlight the enjoyment of eating, focusing on mindfulness and taking the words “good” and “bad” away from food. I also incorporate the use of high-quality supplements and emphasize the lifestyle factors that play a huge role in whole body health, like physical activity, stress management and sleep quality.
